SERVER RULES

Know the rules. Respect the realm. Enjoy the chaos.

πŸŒ† Server Philosophy

Three Heads, One Goal: Quality Roleplay
At Cerberus RP, we believe every interaction should serve one purposeβ€”creating memorable, engaging roleplay. Winning or losing a situation isn't what matters. What matters is the story you help build.

Experience Over Outcome
Losing a gunfight or getting caught in a chase shouldn't feel like a punishment. Every scenario should leave all parties with something valuable: good RP, character development, and a reason to come back for more.

Roleplay Over Ruleplay
Our rules are here to guideβ€”not restrict. We expect players to act in good faith and prioritize immersive storytelling over exploiting technicalities or bending rules.

Staff Approach
Staff decisions are based on impact, not just whether a rule was technically broken. If a situation results in positive, engaging RP for everyone involved, intervention is unlikely. We are here to protect the communityβ€”not control every interaction.

🌐 Community Guidelines

These rules apply across all Cerberus RP platforms, including the game server, Discord, and any affiliated spaces.

  • No Hate Speech or Bigotry β€” Zero tolerance for real-world hate or discrimination. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious intolerance, or similar behaviorβ€”whether in or out of character.
You can play a villain without bringing real-world hate into it.
  • No Harassment β€” Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes:
    • Repeated unwanted messages or contact
    • Threats or intimidation
    • Sexual harassment
    • Targeted behavior meant to make others uncomfortable
If someone tells you to stop, you stop.
  • Off-Platform Conduct β€” We don't mediate personal dramaβ€”but if your behavior outside the server affects the safety or experience of others within Cerberus RP, we will act. This includes doxxing, harassment, or coordinated attacks against community members.

⚠️ Unacceptable OOC Behavior

The following are examples of behavior that will not be tolerated:

  • Messaging someone repeatedly after being told to stop or being blocked
  • Harassing players over in-game situations via Discord or social media
  • Creating groups or chats to target, mock, or expose others
  • Sharing private messages, screenshots, or personal information without consent
If you feel targeted or unsafe, open a ticket with evidence. We take these reports seriously.

🧠 Community Expectations

  • Constructive Feedback Only β€” We welcome feedback and suggestionsβ€”but toxicity, insults, or constant negativity toward the community, players, or staff will not be tolerated.
  • 18+ Community β€” Cerberus RP is an adult (18+) server. Mature conversations may happen, but respect and common sense are always expected.
  • No Backseat Moderating β€” If someone is breaking rules, report itβ€”don't try to handle it yourself in public. This only escalates situations and creates confusion.
  • Proper Use of Tickets & Channels β€” Keep all communication clear, respectful, and relevant:
    • No spam or trolling
    • No arguing with staff in tickets
    • No joke or false reports
Abuse of systems may result in restrictions.

🚫 Restrictions & Policies

  • No Ban Evasion or Undisclosed Alts β€” Using alternate accounts to bypass bans, spy, or manipulate situations is strictly prohibited. All alt accounts must be disclosed to staff.
  • Naming Policy β€” All usernames, character names, and profiles must meet community standards:
    • No offensive or explicit content
    • No impersonation
    • No troll or disruptive names
Staff may request changes at any time. Failure to comply may result in removal.
  • No Advertising β€” Advertising other servers, communities, or servicesβ€”whether in-game, Discord, or DMsβ€”is not allowed without staff approval.
  • Leave Drama at the Door β€” Cerberus RP is a place for collaborative storytelling. Bringing ongoing negativity, outside conflicts, or public arguments into the community may result in removal.

βš–οΈ Appeals & Accountability

  • Ban Appeals β€” If you are banned, you may submit an appeal through our website. All appeals are reviewed by a different staff member to ensure fairness and avoid bias.
  • Staff Accountability β€” All reportsβ€”including those involving staffβ€”are taken seriously and reviewed appropriately. No one in Cerberus RP is above the rules.

🎭 Core Roleplay Rules

  • Roleplay Comes First β€” You are expected to remain in character at all times and approach every situation with the intent to engage, react, and contribute to the scene. If someone initiates RP with you, you are expected to respond. During criminal situations, you must engage with law enforcement RPβ€”you are not required to lose, but you are required to participate meaningfully.
  • In-Character Conflict vs Harassment β€” Conflict is part of RP, but targeting a player personally or making them uncomfortable under the excuse of RP is not allowed.
    • Not allowed: Repeatedly forcing yourself into someone's RP without purpose, using multiple characters to target the same individual, ignoring clear attempts to disengage, using RP as an excuse to push discomfort
    • Allowed: Gang retaliation based on established storylines, long-term rivalries, high-intensity RP where all parties are engaged
Staff will evaluate intent, frequency, and impact. False reports used to avoid RP consequences may result in punishment.
  • Stay In Character β€” Do not break character during active RP. Do not call out rule terms (e.g., "RDM", "Fail RP") in-game. Handle issues after the situation through proper reports. Exceptions apply only for severe violations (hate speech, extreme harassment, etc.).
  • No Exploiting β€” Abusing mechanics or unintended systems is strictly prohibited. This includes: combat logging, duplication glitches or economy abuse, using emotes/mechanics for unfair combat advantages, camping respawns or restart timers, and transferring items or money between characters. If you discover an exploit, report it and stop using it immediately.
  • Respawn & Downed State Rules β€” Call for EMS and wait; only respawn if no medics are available, your body is unreachable, or you are bugged. If police are on scene and you glitch out, cooperate with them rather than using the bug to escape the situation. While downed you remain in RPβ€”your character is still part of the story, so no respawning to dodge consequences (arrest, robbery, or the end of a scene you're losing).
  • Value Your Life (NVL) β€” Your character should realistically value their life. Gun to your head while unarmed, outnumbered, or caught by surprise = comply. Resisting is only acceptable when you have a realistic chanceβ€”your own weapon already drawn, solid cover, or backup on sceneβ€”and you must be prepared to accept serious, lasting consequences if it goes wrong. Pulling a weapon while held at gunpoint, ignoring armed demands, or fleeing through gunfire like it can't hurt you all break NVL.
  • No Metagaming β€” Do not use information your character wouldn't know. This includes streams, Discord, or outside communication. Using third-party communication while in-server for RP advantage is strictly prohibited.
  • No Stream Sniping β€” Do not watch or use streams to gain in-game advantage. Support content creatorsβ€”but keep interactions in character and organic.
  • No Powergaming β€” Do not force outcomes or remove another player's ability to respond. Examples: forcing actions with no chance to react, instant executions without RP buildup.
Rule of thumb: if you control the outcome instead of the interactionβ€”you're powergaming.
  • Fail RP β€” Low-quality or immersion-breaking behavior is not allowed. This includes: unrealistic character behavior, cop baiting, random/pointless violence (attacking players or killing locals without RP justification), intentionally disruptive actions, and outfits or appearances that break immersion. Cerberus RP expects players to act with purpose, realism, and believable intent.
  • Copyright Music β€” Do not play copyrighted music in public voice channels to protect content creators.
  • Server Events β€” Do not disrupt server-wide events (concerts, debates, funerals, etc.). Any major interference must be approved by senior staff beforehand.
  • Government & Allowlisted Roles β€” Positions of power must be used responsibly. No targeting players without RP reasoning, no OOC-driven sabotage or abuse of authority, keep IC conflict separate from OOC frustration.
  • Green Zones β€” Hospitals, police stations, and other marked protected areas are green zones. Do not initiate crimes there (robberies, kidnappings, shootouts), and do not run into one to escape consequences of RP you started outside. Story-driven scenes that involve a green zone (e.g., a jailbreak) require staff approval beforehand.
  • Roleplay Over Gunplay β€” Violence must have build-up and reasoning that the other party can actually see and respond to. Attempt dialogue, demands, or negotiation firstβ€”shooting should be the escalation, not the opener. If the story works just as well without a gunfight, choose the story.

πŸ”« Conflict Rules

  • No RDM (Random Deathmatch) β€” You must initiate with clear RP before engaging in violence. Valid initiation means the other party could realistically hear or see it and had a chance to respondβ€”spoken demands at close range, an established ongoing conflict, or a direct threat within the scene. Shooting someone with no interaction, demands shouted from out of earshot, or "they insulted me" alone all count as RDM.
  • No VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch) β€” Vehicles may not be used as weapons. Intentionally running players over, ramming people, or using a car to down someone is prohibited. The only exception is a single hit while actively fleeing as a genuine last resortβ€”you may not turn around for a second pass, circle back, or use the vehicle to finish anyone off.
  • No Exit Camping β€” Do not camp exits (doors, ladders, elevators, etc.) in a way that gives players no reasonable chance to react or defend themselves. This includes attacking players immediately as they exit or holding positions where players are stuck in animations. Positioning nearby is allowed, but you must give players a fair opportunity to respond or engage in RP.
  • Consent for Sensitive RP β€” Graphic or sensitive contentβ€”torture scenes, prolonged captivity, extreme violence beyond a normal fightβ€”requires OOC consent from every player involved before the scene escalates. Get it in writing (/ooc or Discord) so it can be shown to staff if asked. Consent can be withdrawn at any time; if someone withdraws, wind the scene down immediately.
  • Conflict Limits
    • General conflict: 5v5
    • Heists: 5 criminals vs 8 police
    • Turf defense: Only those present when the attack starts may defendβ€”no calling in reinforcements
These counts include everyone participating in any role: shooters, drivers, lookouts, and anyone providing support. Do not manipulate situations to bypass these limits (e.g., rotating people in mid-fight or staging "uninvolved" backup nearby).
  • Endless Conflict & Cooldowns β€” Conflict must evolve or end. After a major shootout, both sides must stand down for at least 60 minutes before re-engaging the same group, and every re-engagement needs a new RP reasonβ€”"we lost last time" is not one. Long-running wars must show story progression (negotiations, betrayals, escalation), not the same fight repeated daily. Back-to-back large shootouts with no resolution = Fail RP.
  • Looting Rules β€” Looting happens during the scene, not as a return trip. Take what you need within a couple of minutes and leave once a realistic police or EMS response would end your window. No looting police for weapons or gear after the conflict ends, and no looting downed players mid-fight to re-arm and jump back into the same engagement ("resupply and re-engage").
  • Pocket Wiping β€” Take only what your RP reason justifies: the product you robbed them for, the weapon they pulled on you, the cash from the deal. Stripping a player of everything they carryβ€”phone, food, keys, personal itemsβ€”without a story reason is pocket wiping and is punishable.
  • Convoy Rule β€” Max 3 vehicles in active rolling conflict.
  • Craftable Sticky Bombs β€” Sticky bombs may only be used in the specific heists they are designed for. Any other useβ€”as a weapon against players, a trap, or a breaching tool outside those heistsβ€”is prohibited.

πŸ₯ Injury & Death Rules

  • No "Warlording" β€” No downing players with non-lethal methods for execution. No tackling players during active gunfights to create a free kill. Using tackles to negate firearms or force an unrealistic advantage is prohibited.
  • Downed Behavior β€” While downed: you may speak only for roleplay purposes (e.g., interacting with EMS). Once downed, you are out of the situation until revived.
  • New Life Rule (NLR) β€” After an execution-style death, your memory is limited and the situation is over for you.
    • You remember: General situation, what happened
    • You do NOT remember: Exact identities, voices, names, or identifying details
    • You may NOT: Return to the area of your death or rejoin the same conflict, and you may not act on details of it (revenge, reports, warnings to friends) as if you remember them
  • Ocean Dumping β€” Dumping a body in the ocean is allowed as part of a scene, but it does not force anything on the victim: you cannot use it to impose memory loss beyond normal NLR, permadeath, or extended time out of the city. The victim decides what lasting effect (if any) it has on their character.

⚠️ Content Restrictions

  • No Erotic RP β€” Strictly prohibited in all forms.
  • No Pregnancy RP β€” Pregnancy roleplay is not allowed in any form, with or without consent.
  • Extreme Gore or Torture β€” Prohibited unless every player involved gives clear OOC consent beforehand (see Consent for Sensitive RP). Even with consent, scenes must stay within the other Content Restrictions.
  • No "Real-World Trauma" RP β€” Disallowed topics include:
    • Suicide / self-harm
    • Terminal disease
    • Mass casualty events
    • Real-world tragedies

πŸ›οΈ Corruption Rules

Corruption RP must remain realistic and balanced.

  • Corruption storylines require staff approval before they beginβ€”not after you're caught
  • You must accept consequences if caught: charges, job loss, or character arcs ending
  • No abuse of job-specific resources (evidence, impound, armory, dispatch info) beyond what the approved storyline covers
  • No bypassing legal systems through OOC logicβ€”your character gets caught the way a real corrupt official would
